Award Of Belarusian Veteran Found In The Desert In Israel During Military Exercises

The holder of the order is a native of Asipovichy district.

During military exercises in the Negev desert in Israel, an award of Belarusian World War II veteran Ivan Aliashkevich was found.

On April 13, Israeli Anatol Kavalerchyk, a native of Babruisk, handed over the award to the Belarusian diplomats. According to the press service of the Belarusian embassy in Israel, it was found out that the award recipient is a Belarusian, a native of Asipovichy district. He died in 1995.

The award will be sent by diplomatic mail to Belarus to be passed to the veteran's daughter, who lives in Salihorsk.

Nobody gave any explanations as to how Ivan Aliashkevich's order could get to Israel.
