Serzh Sargsyan has commented on Lukashenka's ramblings during his visit to Baku.

Former Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan commented on Aliaksandr Lukashenka's statement during his visit to Baku, in which he said that the Armenian authorities refused to settle the Karabakh conflict peacefully, News.Am reported.

- With all respect to the Belarusian people, I would not like them to ever have such a "peace-loving" neighbor, because in a while it will appear that Minsk is an ancient Azerbaijani city, and the Belarusian nation as such did not exist, in which connection Aliyev's "historical justice" must prevail on these territories with all the consequences flowing from that. Those who want to know the truth can find Aliyev's "peace-loving statements" on the Internet, which contain anti-Armenian, hostile statements, and draw a conclusion based on that. You can send the results to Aliaksandr Lukashenka and ask him to compare his idea of peace and justice with the peaceful ideas of his friend Aliyev, - the statement says.

What Lukashenka said

On April 14, during his visit to Baku, Lukashenka said that Aliyev proposed to restore Karabakh and "raise Armenia," but the "former Armenian leadership" refused to settle the conflict peacefully.

- When I am not the president, of course, I will tell a lot of good things about what Ilham suggested to the Armenian people and leaders of Armenia in order to resolve the conflict. One of the suggestions when he said to me: "Listen, you tell the Armenians, you are on good terms with them, I am ready to restore not only Karabakh, but also to raise Armenia (when the oil was for a hundred dollars)... I do not even say the amount, which I am ready to pay right off. Tell them to resolve the issue peacefully, - Lukashenka said.

Then, according to Lukashenka, the Armenian leadership turned down Azerbaijan's offer. He also admitted that it was the first time he'd spoken about it publicly.

Lukashenka congratulated the peoples of Armenia and Azerbaijan "with the end of this sad period in their history". And he said he wanted to note Aliyev's "great role" "in solving this problem.
