Belarus Approved Abolition Of Individual Practice For Lawyers

This abolition is called "improvement".

Now legal advisory services will be the only organizational form in Belarus, BelTA informs.

The legal community first faced with the mass revocation of licenses after the presidential elections in Belarus in December 2010. Then the protests quickly ended with a crackdown and criminal cases against opposition activists, and in 2011, the Ministry of Justice deprived seven lawyers of their license for various reasons.

After the 2020 elections, a new wave of revocation of lawyers' licenses occurred in Belarus. At that, questions began to arise towards those defenders who were defending the opponents of the authorities. As a result, the tightening of the screws led to a situation where there would be no more individual practice of lawyers as part of lawyers' bureaus in Belarus.
