The Sixth Term Was His Last

Finally and irrevocably.

Yes, it happens. Nothing is eternal. Even presidents, it turns out, cannot live forever. And how much they want to!

That's it. Period. He died finally and generally irrevocably.

President elected for the sixth term died of wounds received in battle in Africa.

Chada Idris Debi. 68 years old, you know. He died a few days after he was elected for a sixth term. The leadership of the country was taken over by the National Council for Transition, created by the military.

President Chada Idris Debi, who has ruled this African state since 1990, for some 30 years, died of injuries sustained in a fight with rebels. He was injured in fighting over the weekend. And, as local media write and his entourage says: "Debi breathed his last, defending the sovereignty of the nation on the battlefield."

The sixth term was his last.

What have you thought or about whom?
