OSCE To Join Helping Poles Of Belarus

Diplomatic and political channels have already been involved today.

OSCE will help Poles in Belarus. This was stated by Head of the organization Helga Schmid at a meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw, Polskie Radio reports.

Krzysztof Szczerski, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the President's Office, gave details: “Ms. Helga Schmid made an important statement that the OSCE will use all available diplomatic tools to improve the situation of Poles in Belarus. Already today, diplomatic and political channels have been involved: statements by the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, as well as actions of the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities”.

A month ago, the chairman of the Union of Poles in Belarus Andżelika Borys, members of the organization Andrzej Poczobut, Anna Paniszewa were arrested in Minsk. Other Union of Poles In Belarus activists are also subjected to repression.
