Lukashenka Writes Last Will
Valery Karbalevich

There is another problem for the authorities they do not realize.

Lukashenka's unconstitutional decree granting powers to the Security Council has finally appeared. However, it entails some different circumstances and consequences, reports Radio Svaboda.

Lukashenka used the decree to initiate a huge legal mess, which cannot bring anything good.

It is important for Lukashenka that the decree was signed on May 9, Victory Day. It should add some more symbolism to the document.

Its content contradicts its title: "on the protection of sovereignty and constitutional order". The mechanism of imitating power after Lukashenka's departure has nothing to do with sovereignty.

The content of the decree has thoroughly been discussed. I assume many political actors will want to hear the opinion of the Constitutional Court on its compliance with the Constitution.

However, the consequences matter here. Not only direct political and legal, but also social, its impact on the public consciousness. There is another problem in this story for the authorities they don't seem to realize. Look at what the ordinary person sees on the official information screen. The conspiracy against Lukashenka is on the agenda in the state media. There is a decree if something happens to Lukashenka.

There is a reason why rulers used to keep conspiracy attempts secret. They did not want to expose their weakness and vulnerability to the public and give additional weight to their enemies.

However, wishing to frighten the people and discredit the opposition to the maximum, the authorities desacralized Lukashenka. Decree No. 2 is Lukashenka's political will. When does one write a will in this territory? In America, all people, regardless of age, write these kinds of documents at a young age. Here, one does it when foreseeing one's death. In our case, we are talking about a political one.

Remember the conclusion of the famous Russian politician Vyacheslav Volodin: "There is Putin - there is Russia, no Putin - no Russia". For 27 years, the state media have been proving this conclusion to Belarusian society by replacing Putin's surname with Lukashenka's.

Lukashenka and his lackeys, perhaps unwittingly, have raised the issue of Belarus without Lukashenka. Decree No. 2 is a predetermination, a feeling of doom and lack of perspective. It represents a continuation of last year's story with Lukashenka wearing a bulletproof vest and holding an assault rifle. That is, the decree opens the horizon for society in the post-Lukashenka era.

Lukashenka puts on the agenda the future after Lukashenka's era, unwittingly provoking an artificial crisis of his legitimacy. The subconsciousness of the Belarusian society plants the idea that life continues without Lukashenka. It is a revolution in the minds of his followers.
