President Of Poland At NATO Eastern Flank Summit: We Must Be Ready to Defend Belarus' Sovereignty

Andrzej Duda has supported the Belarusians' commitment to democracy.

Polish President Andrzej Duda has discussed the situation in Belarus with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis.

"We would really like this country to move in the direction of democracy, for the country to become truly fully sovereign and independent. We would like to see the aspirations of the Belarusian people and all the inhabitants, the citizens of Belarus, realized," - the Polish president said.

Duda said that in today's situation it is necessary to be vigilant and ready to defend Belarus.

"We should be vigilant and, first of all, observe the situation, and then be ready in case of any threat from that side, as well as in the international arena, to defend Belarus in order to preserve its sovereignty," - Duda said.
