Stanislau Husak was 71 years old.

Belarusian public activist Stanislau Husak died after a stroke in hospital on May 17, not reaching 12 days before his 72nd birthday. This was reported to Charter97.org by his daughter.

In Belarus, he was known as the author of the idea and conceptual design of the Baltic-Black Sea oil reservoir project (a project, which, according to the BPF, could save Ukraine, Belarus and the Baltic States from energy dependence on Russia).

Stanislau Husak also stood at the origins of the Belarusian Popular Front and was a deputy chairman of the United Democratic Party (later - the UCP);

Stanislau Husak was the author of a number of topical articles, which were published in Belarus and abroad. He was distinguished by his active life position, and repeatedly became the hero of the journalistic materials of various publications in the columns of "The Belarusian Of The Day" and " The Star Of The Week".
