Just Some Kind of Schrödinger's Oil

Just Some Kind of Schrödinger's Oil

The fewer the resources and capabilities, the louder the verbal interventions.

You know, agonizing uncertainty persists over the supply of Russian oil to Naftan. That's just some kind of Schrödinger's oil, honestly. Yesterday Transneft announced that it is going to transport 608,000 tons of oil to Belarus. This is two times less than in April and, in general, corresponds to the situation when almost no oil is supplied to Naftan, and the Mozyr refinery will be slightly under repair.

But at the same time, Belneftekhim, without stopping to discuss some numbers there, repeated the thesis of Prime Minister Halouchanka that everything is regular and according to plan. And I will not even ask you a rhetorical question: "Who do you trust more?" Because how can you not trust Prime Minister Halouchanka and Belneftekhim?

Moreover, in fact, I think there is no categorical contradiction between these statements. Firstly, because everyone has their own idea of what is standard. And secondly, Belneftekhim probably made oil reserves, which Naftan will now work on until they run out. But remember, having oil is less than half the deal. Then you need to be able to sell the gasoline made from it. And of course, it will be possible to sell it back to Russia, only the price will be one and a half times less than we would like.

In general, yesterday, somehow especially a lot of verbal interventions were made in economic prosperity and financial stability. About the unique model and the irresistible growth of GDP. And this is, of course, correct. Because if your internal debt is breaking records for the second month in a row, and oil is not given, then what else to talk about, except about stability? The main thing here is not to miss the moment when the National Bank starts telling that there will be no devaluation. Although the National Bank is just smart. He won't tell.

In addition to economic stability, yesterday the authorities again carried out verbal interventions to strengthen their international authority and geopolitical position. That is, they threatened Voronezh with new bombings. Because, after all, European companies, to which the authorities again hinted at local Armageddon, are still not strangers to Voronezh. After all, at least our Belarusian people work there.

And I would probably worry about the fate of Voronezh, if not for all the previous experience of anti-sanctions campaigns from the Belarusian authorities. Because, so far, the most convincing success of these companies has been a crushing victory over Nivea tubes. And I don't think there's any reason to think it's going to be any different now.

You may have already forgotten, but what haven't the Belarusian authorities threatened with lately. Trade unions were introduced by January 1 in every coffee shop, and parasites were intimidated by forced employment. But so far, even the officials who are "sitting with their eyes down" cannot be "pulled out from under the plinth." How is it with the Belarusian authorities? The fewer resources and opportunities they have, the louder the verbal interventions are.
