Representative Of Pope Francis Makes statement On Belarus

The Holy See continues to closely monitor the development of the situation in our country.

Head of the press-center of the Holy See Matteo Bruni made a statement on Belarus. This was a response to numerous requests from journalists.

The Holy See made a statement about Belarus, which was published on the official website of the Vatican:

“The Holy See continues to closely monitor the development of the situation in Belarus and the steps taken by various stakeholders, while maintaining its commitment to achieving democratic and peaceful ways to implement the legitimate demands of the Belarusian people,” the statement reads.

On August 16, 2020, during a Sunday meeting with believers, Pope Francis personally spoke about what was happening in those days in Belarus:

“I am giving my thoughts to dear Belarus. I follow the situation in the country with great attention. I call for dialogue, an end to violence, respect for justice, and the rule of law. I will trust all Belarusians to the care of the Mother of God, the Queen of the World,” Francis said then.
