Belarusian Politicians Who Lukashenka Fears Most

The regime has made the trial of Mikalai Statkevich and Siarhei Tsikhanouski closed.

The trial of Siarhei Tsikhanouski, Mikalai Statkevich, Ihar Losik, Uladzimir Tsyhanovich, Artsiom Sakau and Dzmitry Papou will be held in the Homel pre-detention center on June 24th.

The political prisoners will not even be taken to court, reports Radio Svaboda. They will be tried behind closed doors straight in the Homel pre-detention center.

The authorities are scared of the dignified behavior of politicians Pavel Seviarynets, Yauhen Afnahel, Maksim Viniarski and other European Belarus activists at the sentencing.

Lukashenka has long been panic-stricken by such strong opponents as Mikalai Statkevich and Siarhei Tsikhanouski, whom he threw behind bars even before the presidential elections, and now he has closed the trial against them as well.
