They were hidden in wagons with wood pellets.

Latvian customs officers detained contraband Belarusian cigarettes, reports grani.lv.

It is reported that during the inspection of a freight train at the checkpoint "Indra," there were grounds to suspect that there were undeclared goods in a wagon of wood pellets.

The wagon was sent to the Daugavpils trade station, where an in-depth inspection was carried out. As a result, 40 thousand packets of "Premjer" cigarettes with Belarusian excise stamps were found in the wagon.

And on May 28 53.4 thousand packets of "NZ" cigarettes with Belarusian excise stamps were found between the boards in a wagon with wood at the Daugavpils trade station.

The documents in both of the cases were handed over to the Tax and Customs Police Department for initiating criminal cases.
