The Washington Post Named the Main "Wallets" of Lukashenka's Regime

The influential Washington Post devoted its second column in a few days to the situation in Belarus. This time, the editorial board calls on the U.S. to tighten sanctions against Lukashenka's regime.

The Washington Post urged the U.S. leadership to immediately impose sanctions against the "wallets of the regime" in Belarus.

The journalists listed as targets of sanctions Aliaksandr Zeitsau, Aliaksei Aleksin, Mikalai Varabei, Aliaksandr Mashenski, Aliaksandr Zingman and Mikhail Gutseriev.

According to The Washington Post, the US "should follow Brussels' lead in seeking to isolate "wallets" and clean out the regime's purse.

"It's a rare chance for President Biden to back up his democratic rhetoric with real action," the column said.
