92 More Illegal Immigrants Detained At Lithuanian-Belarusian Border

73 of them have said they are Iraqi citizens or have documents from that country.

Lithuanian border guards detained 92 more migrants on the border with Belarus on Thursday, reports the Lithuanian State Border Guard Service.

"Of the 92 arrested foreigners on Thursday, 73 introduced themselves as Iraqi citizens or had documents from that country," said the border guards.

They also reminded that Iraqi citizens make more than half of all the detained migrants this year (1380 people). All in all, since the beginning of the year, the Lithuanian border guards have stopped 2430 illegal migrants at the Belarusian border. This is 30 times more than for the whole of last year. In 2020, 81 such foreigners were detained on the Lithuanian border, in 2019 - 46, in 2018 - 104.
