It Became Known What Krystsina Tsimanouskaya Will Do In Coming Days
KRYSTSINA TSIMANOUSKAYA

The director of the Belarusian Foundation for Sports Solidarity has informed Reuters about it.

Krystsina Tsimanouskaya will take a direct flight from Tokyo to Warsaw on August 4. This is reported by Reuters, with reference to Aliaksandr Apeikin, executive director of the Belarusian Foundation for Sport Solidarity.

"She accepted the offer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland to apply for international assistance, she did so and received a Polish visa today. We and the Foundation helped her get a ticket to Warsaw," Apeikin said.

Reuters reports that Krystsina Tsimanouskaya was planning to seek asylum in Germany or Austria on Monday, Aug. 2.

"She is a young athlete, successful, and obviously she would like to continue her career, so she would need help with training and development," Apeikin said.

We remind that on August 2 the Belarusian Sports Solidarity Fund sent a protest to the Sport Arbitration Court against the decision to suspend Krystsina Tsimanouskaya from participating in the Olympics.

The athlete was scheduled to perform at the Olympics on August 2 in the preliminary heat of the 200 meters. However, the NOC of Belarus suspended Krystsina Tsimanouskaya from participation in the Games in Tokyo-2020 "due to her emotional and psychological state" following the decision of the doctors (the athlete herself later denied that she was examined by the doctors, only a psychologist spoke to her). On August 1, she was taken to the airport and they tried to put her on a flight from Tokyo to Istanbul, but the athlete refused to leave. She asked the International Olympic Committee for help. In a published video, the athlete says she was pressured to leave Japan without her consent.

On the eve of this situation, the athlete criticized the national team management for being included in the 4 by 400-meter relay, while the athlete had already been registered for the 100-meter and 200-meter distances. After that, the runner was condemned by the pro-governmental telegram channels and the Belarusian TV.

As a result, the athlete stayed in Tokyo.

On August 2, Krystsina Tsimanouskaya received a humanitarian visa at the Polish Embassy in Tokyo.
