The US and European sanctions against the Belarusian authorities are going to be synchronized.
The media write that five Belarusian banks, as well as the woodworking sector and Beltelecom, may be included in the new, fifth package of EU sanctions.
Belarusbank, Dabrabyt Bank, Belinvestbank, Belagraprombank, and Development Bank may fall under EU sanctions. It is not known which operations may be prohibited, but the strongest effect will be announced, telegraf.by reports.
There is also information that the package is planned to be accepted no earlier than October.
Sources say that they want to synchronize the US and European sanctions against the Belarusian authorities. They may be adopted at the same time.
Earlier, representatives of the countries made various proposals in the European Parliament: to add Belavia, some Belarusian travel agencies, and others to the sanctions list.
A diplomatic source said that “there is no doubt that new sanctions will be introduced, and they will affect people who financially support Lukashenka,” writes EuObserver.
