The expert has named the main candidates.

Russia is now looking for a quiet and obedient candidate to replace Kremlin head Vladimir Putin, as Ukraine has harshly refused to negotiate with the dictator.

This opinion was expressed by military expert Valentin Badrak on the air of Apostrof TV.

According to him, it is unlikely that they are considering Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolay Patrushev, known for his radical anti-Western and anti-Ukrainian views. Dmitry Medvedev, a deputy chairman of the Security Council, would fit the pattern of an obedient boy, the expert says. He would do everything he was told to do, but the head of the United Russia political party has tarnished himself with clownish statements about the use of nuclear weapons, missiles, etc.

Valentin Badrak explained that he hopes for Putin's successor, because it will depend on his successor, i.e. de facto mediator, how successful the negotiations with Ukraine can be.

According to the expert, this role might suit, say, the governor of Tula Region, Aleksey Dyumin, who fits the pattern, has the appropriate qualities, is able to talk, unlike the head of the Rosgvardia Viktor Zolotov, and is able to think, unlike Medvedev. "There are a lot of other names being mentioned, even Dmitry Patrushev's son. But it seems to me that it will be a completely unknown, completely neutral one, resembling the grey silhouette of Putin in the late 90s," Valentin Badrak described his vision. According to him, Russia needs a mediator who will change the situation.
