EU Ambassadors Agreed On Details Of Eighth Sanctions Package Against Russia

The final version will be ready by tomorrow morning.

The ambassadors of the EU countries agreed on the details of the eighth package of sanctions against Russia for the invasion of Ukraine. The final version will be ready by tomorrow morning.

This was reported on Twitter by the Radio Liberty correspondent in Brussels Rikard Jozwiak.

"The EU ambassadors have approved all the details of the package of sanctions against Russia, and have launched the so-called written procedure, which will end tomorrow at 10.00," he wrote, noting that the relevant publication in the EU's official journal is expected tomorrow.

Important to note, the EU countries have been discussing the eighth package of sanctions against Russia since last week. EU High Representative for Foreign Policy Josep Borrell said sanctions would be agreed on October 5.

Earlier, it was reported that the countries of the European Union agreed on 90% of the eighth package of sanctions against Russia, which will include a ceiling on oil prices.
