Rumours that the US will somehow "obstruct the liberation of Crimea" so as not to provoke the Kremlin to use nuclear weapons look doubtful. The appearance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the peninsula is in Washington's interests.

This opinion was expressed by Russian journalist and historian Yuliya Latynina in an interview with Natalya Vlaschenko.

She noted that the USA was providing Ukraine with enough military assistance to win the war. There is only one nuance: the Americans want to stretch out this victory in time, despite the suffering of the Ukrainian people. This is Washington's tactic.

"Weapons are being supplied in sufficient, decent quantities. And, judging by the size of these supplies, they are meant to let Ukraine win. Not to lose, but precisely to win. Another thing is that the Americans seem to have decided to boil the frog slowly, so that it does not jump out and use nuclear weapons. Looking at how (weapons are being supplied - ed.) and how it all is gradually escalating, I have lost the last doubt that they have decided to destroy Putin," the journalist said.

She said that the USA wants to destroy Putin indirectly. "Given that neither the Armed Forces nor NATO will enter Moscow, Putin can be assassinated by his own accomplices... If Putin is assassinated, then only by his own accomplices with whom it will be necessary to negotiate later. For this to happen, Putin must suffer a radical military defeat, that is, lose Crimea," Latynina shared her opinion.

She added that the de-occupation of Crimea by Ukrainians is in line with Washington's strategic goal of strengthening global security.
