Vilnius believes that Minsk is participating in Russia's war in Ukraine as an ally.

Western pressure on Russia must be increased through further tightening of sanctions in the areas of energy, finance, trade and others. This was stated by Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda at a meeting with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, writes delfi. The Lithuanian leader is also reportedly calling on Berlin to tighten sanctions against Belarus as well.

Gitanas Nausėda reportedly said Western pressure on Russia needs to be stepped up by further tightening sanctions in energy, finance, trade and other areas.

According to him, sanctions should also be applied to Belarus, which participates in Russia's war in Ukraine as an ally and allows the aggressor's army to use its territory.

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock is on a visit to Lithuania today.
