Ukrainian Rada Head Calls for Breaking off Economic Relations with Lukashenka's Regime

Ukrainian Rada Head Calls for Breaking off Economic Relations with Lukashenka's Regime

Kyiv has already denounced a number of agreements with Minsk.

Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk said which agreements Kyiv was ready to break with Belarus and Russia.

"We have set a task for our colleagues in the government to carry out, let's say, de-Russianization, de-Belarusianization of these agreements. We expect decisions from the government because all the issues relating to ratifications, denunciations are initiated by the Cabinet of Ministers. We will expect such proposals and will definitely consider them first," Stefanchuk said in an interview with Ukrinform.

According to him, the Ukrainian Parliament has already considered many issues of denunciation of agreements with Russia and Belarus. In particular, agreements on Ukraine's participation in the CIS have already been denounced. "We will wait for a common list. For example, what the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will consider necessary to remove from the legislative framework of Ukraine," the speaker of the Rada said.

However, he stresses there are a number of agreements that could not be broken. In particular, agreements related to human rights. "For example, if Ukrainians will be on the territory of those states, as well as the exchange of prisoners - it all happens at the level of international agreements," Stefanchuk explained.

"At the same time, economic agreements should be cancelled," he stressed.
