The Guardian: Putin Plans Military Operations At Colonel Level

The Russian president is working closely with Chief of the General Staff Gerasimov in his incompetent command.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has become so personally involved in the war in Ukraine that, according to Western military sources, he is making operational and tactical decisions "at the level of a colonel or a brigadier general".

This was reported by The Guardian.

According to the paper's sources, Putin is personally in charge of moving troops in Donbass, but is still working closely with Valeriy Gerasimov, the chief of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff, despite information about the latter's dismissal.

"We believe that Putin and Gerasimov are involved in tactical decisions at a level we would normally expect from a colonel or a brigadier general," the military source said.
