Authorities Are Afraid Even Of Curtains On Balconies Of Belarusians

A Minsk woman has been detained for white-red-white curtains.

Law enforcers detained Alena Zharyna from Minsk, reported human rights activists.

A "penitential" video with the girl appeared in the pro-governmental telegram feeds. She says she hung white-red-white curtains and participated in protests in August 2020.

A criminal case has been opened against Zharyna under Article 342 of the Criminal Code (organisation and preparation of actions grossly violating public order or active participation in them).

In 2020-2021, law enforcers repeatedly detained people who had white-red-white curtains, or white and red decorations on their windows. But previously they had been punished by administrative courts.
