Migrants Still Try to Get into the EU Through Belarus

Neighbours told how many people tried to cross the border in a day.

During the last day, 24 migrants from Belarus attempted to enter Poland, while seven people tried to enter Lithuania and three migrants - Latvia.

According to the Polish Border Guard, May 21, 24 migrants - citizens of Tajikistan, India, Turkey, Iraq and Afghanistan - tried to enter the territory of Poland.

The attempts of illegal crossing were recorded near Dubicze-Cerkiewne, Narewka and Plyaska, near the Polish border checkpoints.

A total of 716 people tried to get from Belarus to Poland in May, while there have been 5135 such attempts since the beginning of the year.

On Saturday, seven illegal migrants tried to enter Lithuania from Belarus. On the same day, Latvian border guards deployed three such foreigners, according to the Lithuanian LRT.
