SSU General Explains Why Putin Changes Head Of Invasion In Ukraine

Ukraine is dealing with an army which remained at the level of the 19th-20th centuries.

Russia has once again changed the head of the so-called "special operation". Instead of General Dvornikov, who was appointed to lead the Russian army in April, Gennady Zhidko will now be the commander of the occupation troops in Ukraine. Such changes prove the Russian army functions according to totalitarian principles, where initiative is punishable and all failures are the faultt of commanders.

Major General of the SSU reserve, Director of the Security Sector Reform Agency Viktor Yagun, stated that to apostrophe.ua.

"I have never heard this name at all. Some military specialists may know him. But it shows that Russia remains loyal to the ideas of totalitarian states, when the top leadership is blamed for the failure of certain tasks rather than the system itself. That is, they look for the guilty at the level of performers," Yagun noted.

According to the SSU reserve general, the Russian army leaders do not trust their subordinates. It may play into the hands of Ukraine.

"Secondly, we see that the constant presence in the line of fire of those or other unit leaders indicates a lack of trust in those who carry out orders. These orders are not always really taken even to the lower ranks. This is to our benefit and their detriment. I hope this totalitarian system of execution and management of the troops will eventually help us to defeat this gaunt armada that calls itself the army," the expert adds.

Furthermore, a great number of Russian officers are indeed in combat ranks right on the front lines.

"Command points are located literally on the front lines. The latest information says one of the points is now 20 kilometers away. Even the old Soviet artillery can hit that command point. I think they have to change it now, given that this information has become known on social media," continued Maj. Gen.

The Army's totalitarian command system is very damaging to the Rascists because they are very slow to respond to changes in the situation on the front lines.

"It all indicates a primitive thing: a major does not really trust a captain, a captain does not trust a senior lieutenant, and so on. They should control everything from a general to a lieutenant. And this system in a totalitarian army is very detrimental to their ability to advance, military changes at the front. They are very slow to respond to these changes. To get consent to a particular maneuver, they receive sanctions almost from the general staff," Yagun explains.

According to the expert, such moments once again prove we are dealing with the army that remains at the level of 19-20th century. Their system differs from that of the Ukrainian forces function.

"There is no initiative at all, because initiative is punishable. It does lead to certain casualties. It's a completely different system. The Ukrainian commander gives an order and does not control the execution of any actions. He trusts his subordinates, his junior commanders, who respond to some changes and make a clear decision. It allows us to participate in an active, modern maneuver war and retain personnel," Yagun summarized.
