The occupant was taken prisoner as an infantryman when the command abandoned them.
The Security Service of Ukraine has questioned a captive sailor who took part in the operation to rescue the crew of the cruiser Moskva. He decided not to die at sea and transferred to the infantry.
The SBU's press service has reported this.
It is noted that the captive Russian took part in an attempt to rescue the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the Moskva, in April.
"There were a lot of dead bodies and, for the most part, the rescue was very sad. The ship was lost, it sank, it couldn't be towed away... I saw enough of what was happening on the Moskva and I didn't want to see further death in the middle of the sea. This is very scary. And I refused..." said the occupant.
The medical care for the Russians was provided by the Ukrainian military.
"We are not liberating anyone, we are only capturing. We are marauding, it's a terrible war," the invader revealed.
"The "sinking" of the cruiser Moskva - what is known
The cruiser Moskva sank on April 13, after being hit by Neptune missiles, but Russian military leaders are hiding the truth about the cause and number of casualties.
