Russian Singer Kirkorov Not Allowed Into Moldova

The day before the "Russian World" advocate performed in the occupied Crimea.

Russian singer Filip Kirkorov was detained at the Chisinau airport in the evening of July 28 - he was denied entry.

This is reported by Newsmaker.

Kirkorov arrived in Moldova by a charter flight.

Border police explained that Kirkorov had not provided any grounds for entry into the country.

"At the Chisinau International Airport, some foreign nationals were refused entry into Moldova. After checking according to established protocols, it was found that they had not observed the conditions for obtaining permission to cross the border," border guards said.

Aureliu Colenco, the lawyer of Shor deputy Marina Tauber, a fellow party member and assistant to party founder Ilan Shor, accused of being involved in the so-called "theft of a billion", has arrived on the spot. He told reporters that Kirkorov had flown to Moldova at the invitation of his lawyers to speak in the Tauber case.

"Filip Kirkorov is one of the key witnesses in the Marina Tauber case. And Moldovan authorities fear that Kirkorov will testify truthfully. Which we will provide to the court and the press in the near future," Colenko said.

The lawyer said that they were not allowed to see Kirkorov and the border guards did not specify the exact reason for the refusal in the document denying the entry.

The day before, the Russian singer performed in occupied Crimea.
