Expert Warns Of Large-Scale Missile Strike Against Kyiv From Belarusian Territory

Russia is amassing S-300 and S-400 complexes at its Ziabrauka airbase.

There is a serious threat of missile attacks on Kyiv and the so-called decision-making centres in the capital in connection with the accumulation of Russian missile systems in Belarus along the border with Ukraine.

In addition, the threat of missile attacks from the territory of Belarus remains for other territories of Ukraine.

Military expert Dmytro Snegiryov said this in an interview with TSN.ua.

"Zaluzhny has repeatedly stressed the high probability of missile attacks from the territory of the Republic of Belarus. Let's recall Putin's recent statement about the possibility of transferring the Iskander operational-tactical complexes to Russia. The fact is that at one time Belarus tried to buy this modification of operational tactical complexes from the Russian Federation. But there are some modifications," said the expert.

The range of the export version of Iskander is up to 280 kilometers. However, there is Iskander M with a range of up to 500 km.

"And here the big question is what kind of operational-tactical complexes will actually be transferred from the territory of the Russian Federation. Belarus also has its own Polonez operational-tactical system, for which the M20 missile with a range of up to 300 km can be used. So all of this gives grounds to say that the use of the territory of Belarus for missile strikes should be considered as a serious scenario," Snegiryov said.

At the same time, he said that the information from the Belaruski Hayun investigators about deploying Iskanders near the Belarusian airfield Ziabrauka, "where a Russian warrant officer was carelessly smoking," has not been confirmed. This should be regarded as an element of the Russian information and psychological campaign.

"The point is that the accumulation of S-300, S-400 missiles, but not Iskanders is indeed observed at this Ziabrauka airfield," the military expert noted.

"So the probability of strikes remains. S-300, if reconstructed for strikes on certain targets, has a range of up to 200 km. But that is enough, if the S-300, Polonez and Iskander are said to be available, then the distance suggests that the Russian Federation may consider strikes on the so-called decision-making centres. We are also talking about the city of Kyiv. We should not deny such a scenario, we should take it seriously," Snegiryov summed up.

We remind you that on August 16, Valeriy Zaluzhny, commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that he was concerned about the deployment of missile systems along the state border from Belarus, including at the Ziabrauka airfield.
