Kalinovsky Regiment Fighter: We're Treated Like Special Forces.

A warrior with the Kus call sign took part in the breakthrough on the border of the Mykolaiv and Kherson regions and in the battles for Lysychansk.

A fighter of the Kalinouski Regiment with the Kus call sign was an active participant in the 2020 protests in Belarus. In November 2020, he was detained at a tea party in Baranavichy, kept in a pre-trial detention centre and fined 10 base values. After the search, on December 18, 2020, he left for Lithuania. In March 2022, he volunteered for the Kalinouski Regiment, according to Belsat.

His first combat mission was to liberate a Ukrainian village. The fighters knew that there would be dead and wounded, so participation in this battle was voluntary.

"Whoever wanted, went voluntarily. I believe that if the Belarusians had not taken part in this battle near Mykolaiv, then their reputation would have suffered greatly from the point of view of the Ukrainian military. As a result of the victory in this battle, we not only took the Ukrainian village as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but also defended the honour of all Belarusians fighting in Ukraine."

The fighter Kus notes that the Ukrainian military respects the Belarusian volunteers, they even perceive the Kalinouski Regiment as a special unit:

“They treat us like some kind of special forces in some cases, although it seems to me that we are ordinary soldiers. They thank us for helping them. I even believe that the neighbourhood at the front with Belarusians is a morale booster for Ukrainians.”
