Powerful Explosions And Black Smoke In Melitopol

The head of the city poked fun at occupants.

Two powerful explosions occurred in the Russian-occupied Melitopol, the Zaporizhzhia oblast. Thick black smoke rose above the local elevator after the explosions.

Ivan Fedorov, the mayor of Melitopol, reported this. He also posted a video of the smoke-filled elevator.

"Occupants are unrestrainedly smoking in Melitopol. Two loud explosions have just been heard in the city. Residents observe black smoke near the city's elevator. We are finding out the details," Fedorov wrote.

It is not yet known what caused the explosions - hits from Ukrainian missiles or subversive work by local guerrillas.
