Losses are several times less than those of the Russian army.
The losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war of conquest by the Russian Federation against Ukraine amount to more than nine thousand dead.
Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Hanna Malyar stated this.
“Thank God it's not hundreds of thousands. Of course, we have Mariupol, where the number of dead still is not known exactly. In general, it's thousands, but it's definitely not hundreds of thousands. We [the Ministry of Defenсe] only keep records of the military, not civilians. If we are talking about military losses, then our losses are much less than those of the enemy. It is very unpleasant for me to measure by quantity, because for us every military man is our great pain. But, nevertheless, it is still an indicator of our skill, our military, that we have much fewer dead than Russia. If they already have more than 50,000 [dead soldiers], then we announced about nine [thousand] in our country. Well, a little more already,” Maliar said in an interview on the ISLND TV Youtube channel, published on September 23.
At the same time, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine declares about 56,000 dead Russian soldiers.
