Poland Secured Gas Supplies From Norway Via Baltic Pipe

Warsaw refused to pay for gas according to Putin's scheme.

Poland will start receiving Norwegian gas through the Baltic Pipe pipeline, which should start operating on October 1. It is reported by РАР with reference to the state company PGNiG.

According to the company, contracts have already been signed for the supply of gas from Norwegian offshore fields. At the same time, Baltic Pipe's capacity will be used at 100% by the end of the year.

PGNiG also claims that, together with LNG supplies, purchases of Norwegian pipeline gas will fully meet the country's needs during the heating season.

The throughput capacity of the new gas pipeline is 10 billion cubic meters per year, so after its launch before the end of the year, Poland can receive 2-3 billion cubic meters.

This year, Warsaw refused to pay for gas according to the scheme approved by the President of Russia, after which fuel supplies via Yamal-Europe were stopped. It should be noted that the Polish government did not intend to renew contracts for gas supplies via Yamal-Europe, relying on gas from Norway and new routes.
