Gas From Nord Stream 2 Leaks Into Baltic Sea

The Danish authorities have made a warning.

Danish authorities have urged ships to stay away from the island of Bornholm after a gas leak from the Russian Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline that occurred in the area overnight.

It is reported by Reuters.

In turn, the German government said it was in close contact with the Danish authorities to find out the causes of the accident.

On the night of September 26, the operator of Nord Stream 2 reported that the pressure in the gas pipeline had dropped from 105 bar to 7. Aulthough Nord Stream 2 was never put into operation, they put 300 million cubic meters of gas into it — a few days before Germany canceled the launch.

The leak occurred a day before the grand opening of the Baltic gas pipeline, through which gas from Norway will go to Poland. Thus, Warsaw seeks to completely abandon Russian raw materials.

In the evening of September 26, the operator of the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline, which had been operating at reduced capacity since mid-June, and then completely stopped deliveries in August, also reported a drop in pressure on both lines of the gas pipeline.
