Russia To Open Military Commissariat Mobilization Point On Its Georgia Border

Draft notices will be handed right at the border.

At the checkpoint Verkhniy Lars on the border of Georgia and the Russian Federation, a mobilization point of the military commissariat will be deployed, Kavkaz.Realii writes.

How exactly the mobilization point will work, and the residents of which regions will be given military draft notices is not specified.

Nikolai Levshits, an activist and author of a popular Russian-language Telegram channel about life in Georgia, reports that on the morning of September 27, a traffic jam of cars wishing to cross the border with Georgia stretches for more than 30 km. According to the Interior Ministry for North Ossetia, more than 4,000 cars are waiting in line to leave.

Earlier, Russian citizens traveling to Georgia were allowed to cross the border at the Verkhniy Lars checkpoint on foot, despite the fact that the border checkpoint was not intended for this. The decision was made in connection with a huge traffic jam of cars accumulated in anticipation of crossing the border.
