'Turret Blown Off': AFU Fighters Liquidate Russian Armored Group Near Vuhledar With Javelins

'Turret Blown Off': AFU Fighters Liquidate Russian Armored Group Near Vuhledar With Javelins

The enemy's T-80 tank and BMP-3 have been blown up.

The Russian invaders continue their assault on Vuhledar, throwing the most combat-ready units of marines into the fight, but the Ukrainian "black Zaporizhzha Cossacks" are giving the enemy a decent repulse. An armoured group of occupiers was eliminated at the outskirts of the town.

Striking footage of two enemy T-80 tanks and one BMP-3 being blown up by Javelins was released on January 26 in the tiktok channel of Ukrainian politician and journalist, 8th parliamentary deputy Serhiy Leshchenko.

"Burning enemy equipment. The 155th Brigade of the Pacific Fleet came under fire from Ukrainian Javelins of the 72nd Brigade of the black Zaporizhzha Cossacks in the suburbs of Vuhledar. A T-80 tank and a BMP-3 tank were destroyed, and it was our Matrice drone, which we handed over to the 72nd brigade a fortnight ago, that was correcting the fire," Leshchenko wrote under the video.

Representatives of the international volunteer community of GeoConfirmed identified the location of the battle.

Both enemy tanks were destroyed at coordinates 47.763585, 37.275454 between Vuhledar and Nikolske, while the BPM-3 was destroyed at coordinates 47.746397, 37.232323 south-east of Pavlivka.

An OSINT researcher and AFU soldier working on Twitter under the pseudonym Tatarigami_UA also gave more details about the course of fighting near Vuhledar in the evening of January 26.

According to his information, as of 18:00, the AFU continued to control Vuhledar and the roads leading to the town. The enemy is attempting to establish fire control over the roads, but has so far failed to achieve its objectives. The enemy has failed to gain a foothold near Vuhledar.

"The enemy attempted to engage a large number of armoured vehicles for the assault, but having lost most of the equipment, it switched to the tactic of constant assaults by small infantry units under continuous artillery fire. The enemy continues its offensive from Nikolske and Pavlivka. The information disseminated by Russian propagandists about entering Vuhledar itself does not correspond to reality. Their attempts to establish control over the eastern territory of the "summer cottages" have also failed so far. On the whole, the situation remains complicated," the observer states.

He also did not rule out that the enemy would bring in reserves from other directions and areas in order to continue the pressure. Enemy artillery fire continues to level Vuhledar to the ground. The Russians are using two of their elite naval brigades - the 155th and 40th - for this assault, which underlines the importance of the direction for the occupiers.
