Russian Propaganda: Aliyev Supported Tribunal Over Lukashenka

The vote in PACE was called “an act of meanness on the part of Baku”.

Russian propaganda reacted violently to the vote of Azerbaijani deputies at the PACE (Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe) meeting on the creation of a special tribunal for Lukashenka and Putin.

“So, during the voting on this issue, two representatives of Azerbaijan in PACE Erkin Gadirli and Kenul Nurullayeva voted “for”, or rather, for the creation of such a “tribunal”. We know and understand very well that these deputies represented not only Azerbaijan, but, first of all, the head of this republic, Ilham Aliyev,” writes the Russian media.

Also, Russian propagandists stress that many Azerbaijani media picked up this news.

“In recent decades, Russian-Azerbaijani and Belarusian-Azerbaijani relations have been developing very rapidly. Russia is declared a “strategic partner”, and Belarus — an “ally”. The endless praises voiced by both Russia and Belarus in relation to the Baku regime were eventually refracted as if in a distorted mirror. With this vote, Azerbaijan actually committed an act of meanness towards its “allies” – Russia and Belarus,” the propagandists sum up.

As the Charter97.org website reported earlier, on January 26, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe supported the decision to hold the military-political leadership of the Russian Federation and Belarus accountable for crimes against Ukraine. This refers to creating a special tribunal for both Vladimir Putin and Aliaksandr Lukashenka.

The resolution was supported by 100 deputies, only one abstained.
