'Russian Military Terrified By Putin's Order'

Generals are preparing to sabotage the Kremlin chief's decision.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, without listening to anyone, has ordered the army to go on the offensive in Ukraine. This decision has caused horror among generals and dissatisfaction among the so-called "war party" in the higher echelons of power.

Russian political analyst Valeriy Solovey said this on journalist Yuliya Latynina's YouTube channel.

"Even the 'war party' is not delighted with what Vladimir is proposing: a new massive offensive on several fronts, for which there are no resources. There is a live force, which can easily be turned into a dead one. But there is not enough hardware... Putin wants to get ahead of Ukraine (in the offensive - ed.), there is not much time: February, maybe early March," Solovey shared.

According to him, this order has angered Russia's military leadership most of all, as they understand the deplorable situation of their army at the front in Ukraine.

"It's not that the military is not delighted, they are horrified. They have proposed the concept of strategic defence: to hold Donbass and Crimea in order to reach peace agreements on that basis. No, Putin is not happy with this... The mobilised have been trained, though not very well. But the main thing is the lack of machinery and armaments. The second thing is that the military have a very big fear, they are afraid that the remnants of the Russian regular army will be destroyed... this is very dangerous," the Russian political scientist said.

He does not rule out that the Russian military will sabotage Putin's order in order to preserve at least the remnants of its military capacity.
