Zianon Pazniak Summarizes Results Of His Trip To Ukraine

The politician believes that Belarus should be recognized as an occupied state.

The leader of the CCP-BPF Zianon Pazniak visited Ukraine at the end of January and beginning of February. He spoke about the results of the trip, as well as the creation of a new military-political structure, during a press conference upon his return to Warsaw, writes nashaniva.com.

Zianon Pazniak's visit to Ukraine was prepared for several months.

The politician said that he met in the Verkhovna Rada with the committee on foreign policy and interparliamentary cooperation.

"There was a question about whether it is possible to recognize Belarus as an occupied state. We wrote letters to all Ukrainian institutions. The commission has prepared a draft, which has been put on the queue. The essence of this project is that it will be a statement condemning the occupation of Belarus by Russian troops."

The politician also shared the details of the meeting with the people of the Kalinouski regiment. There were six such meetings.

"I've had three meetings with the leadership of the regiment. I met with the people from the Volat, Litwin battalions, and the training people. They were in Bakhmut directly. We did not go to the zero line, but we were in Bakhmut at a distance of approximately two kilometers.

We were lucky: there was fog, mist, drones didn't fly, they didn't shoot at us, even though shooting is usually going on all the time there," said Zianon Pazniak.

He also visited the hospital in Kyiv, where the wounded soldiers are staying.

"We believe that a regiment is a combat unit that is a political unit at the same time," he added. The politician discussed the cooperation of Free Belarus and other national democratic organizations with the Kalinouski regiment.

Zianon Pazniak announced the main result of the trip:

"Consultations are underway on the creation of a military-political structure of the Security Council with the aim of protecting the national interests of Belarus in the conditions of the war in Ukraine and the occupation of Belarus by the Russian Federation."
