Prosecutor Wants 12 Years Of Prison For Nobel Laureate Ales Bialiatski

For the rest of the defendants in the "Viasna case" - from 9 to 11 years.

The prosecutor requested a prison sentence of 9 to 12 years for the defendants in the "Viasna case".

The prosecution requested a 12-year prison term for Nobel Peace Prize laureate Ales Bialiatski. For Uladzimir Labkovich - 9 years, for Valiantsin Stsefanovich - 11 years. For Dzmitry Salauyou, who is abroad, 10 years.

As Charter97.org wrote, the case of the Viasna activists is being considered in the accelerated mode. They are illegally charged under Part 4 of Article 228 ("smuggling by an organized group") and Part 2 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code ("financing of group activities that grossly violate public order").

The "Viasna" political prisoners now need solidarity. Support them with letters, parcels and money transfers: Pre-trial detention center-1, 2 Volodarsky Street, Minsk, 220030, to Aliaksandr Bialiatski, Valiantsin Stsefanovich, Uladzimir Labkovich.
