Mateusz Morawiecki called Natallia Pinchuk the voice of the Belarusian opposition.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki met with Natalдia Pinchuk, the wife of the head of the Viasna human rights center, Nobel Peace Prize winner Ales Bialiatski, who was sentenced to 10 years in prison. This is reported by the official Facebook account of the head of the Polish government.
“Mrs. Nataдlia is the voice of the Belarusian opposition. This is an unusually strong, charismatic woman who says and conveys what her husband cannot say, as he is now in a Belarusian prison, sentenced to 10 years in a demonstrative political trial.
Despite the challenges and hardships that the war in Ukraine and Lukashenka's repression of Belarusians brings on a daily basis, we must continue to support the democratic opposition beyond our eastern border. This is required by the national interest of Poland. This is required by human decency. This is what the future and security of Europe require.”
