The Russian Federation may have attacked the city with its own missiles.

Residents of the Russian city of Belgorod heard loud sounds similar to explosions on Thursday evening, March 30.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to local Telegram channels.

Around 10:10 p.m. Moscow time, nine powerful explosions were heard over the city within 20 minutes. Locals complained that the sounds made windows shake in houses and alarms went off in some cars.

Preliminary reports suggested that the Russian air defence system had been activated over the city. There were no statements from the Russian authorities about the source of the explosions.

Later, local residents published a video of a large-scale fire in a district of Belgorod, on Lapinsky Avenue. Preliminarily it was there that the sounds of explosions were heard.

"It is known that garages are on fire. And the area of the fire has increased to 250 square meters. Rospotrebnadzor went to the place of fire to investigate the atmospheric air," city residents wrote.

The explosions in Belgorod were repeated overnight as well, during a massive Russian missile attack on Ukraine.

Several explosions occurred in the city after S-300 missiles were launched at Kharkiv, which is not far from Belgorod, nv.ua reported.

Video of the explosions have been published by local residents. Nine powerful explosions are reported.

There is a possibility that these were the sounds of falling rockets that did not reach Kharkiv.
