Political prisoner Uladzimir Niapomniashchykh has been released, according to Homiel human rights activists. He has been behind bars since December 2020.

Nepomniachtchi was sentenced to two years and three months in a general-security penal colony for "insulting a government official" and "violence or threat of violence against an official" back in April 2021. He was found guilty of insulting the assistant prosecutor from Homiel, Alesia Zhurauskaia, right in the courtroom.

The political prisoner was in Mahiliou Correctional Colony No 15.

Uladzimir Niapomniashchykh is 70 years old. He is a well-known public activist from Homiel, a former policeman, until 1992 he had been working as a detective. He was engaged in business after his retirement, and joined the United Civic Party.
