Former State Duma Member: Mafia War Will Tear Russia Apart After Defeat In Ukraine
IGOR YAKOVENKO

Such a development is beneficial to Prigozhin.

After the defeat in the war against Ukraine, Russia, the aggressor country, will face unrest and mafia war, as a result of which the Russian Federation will simply collapse. The owner of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, understands the likelihood of such a scenario, but is not afraid of it, because such a scenario is beneficial to him.

Prigozhin will take part in the division of territories and property after the collapse of Russia. Russian oppositionist, journalist and sociologist Igor Yakovenko predicted such a scenario in an interview with Glavred.

“I think Prigozhin understands that Russia is losing the unleashed war, and as a result of the hostilities, Moscow will face a heavy defeat and chaos. Prigozhin is happy with this - the chaos will lead to a mafia war, also they will begin to divide the territories and property,” Yakovenko notes.

The Russian oppositionist notes that now Prigozhin has taken a break for two months and is withdrawing the Wagner PMC from the battlefield, because he understands that the Ukrainian offensive will completely crush his group.

“At the same time, Prigozhin expects to keep his forces until the moment when he needs them for use either in Africa or in Russia. Prigozhin will participate in the division of the territory and property of Russia when troubles begin there,” Yakovenko said.

The Russian oppositionist also stressed that the conflict between Prigozhin and the Russian Ministry of Defense flared up because of money because it is they who are the most important for the leader of the Wagner PMC.

“We are talking about defamation of the Ministry of Defense, due to the settling of personal scores between Prigozhin and its leadership - Minister Shoigu and the head of the General Staff Gerasimov. The conflict between them arose because of the money - Prigozhin's activities are aimed primarily to enrich himself. The war is in his second place, politics is in the third,” he explained.

So, participation in the war against Ukraine allowed Prigozhin to get a lot of money, says Yakovenko.

“Contracts with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation allowed Prigozhin to receive 5 billion rubles and part of the funds from the 10 billion that were allocated for the creation of wonderful magic pyramids installed in the Belgorod region. Soldiers of the Russian Volunteer Corps carefully bypassed these pyramids and entered the region. Prigogine is interested in money. The conflict with the governor of St. Petersburg Beglov was dictated by the confrontation for control over the city budget, and the confrontation with Shoigu was due to the struggle for the budget of the Ministry of Defense,” said Yakovenko.
