'No One Could Run Away, Russians Were Simply Washed Off'

An AFU fighter has reported for the first time what happened to Russian troops on the left bank of the Dnieper River.

Ukrainian servicemen witnessed how a flood of water washed away the Russian occupants on the left bank of the Dnieper river after Russia blew up the Kakhovka hydropower plant, CNN writes.

In a commentary to the TV channel, an officer of the AFU, Captain Andriy Pidlisny said that the dam collapsed early Tuesday morning, "no one from the Russian side was able to escape", all positions of the occupiers were flooded - "Russians were simply washed off" with water.

The Ukrainian military officer believes that Russia blew up the dam deliberately - to prevent a counter-attack by the AFU in the south.

Pidlisny added that his brother-in-arms monitored the developments with the help of drones. He pointed to the peculiarities of the terrain, which, among other things, led to heavy casualties among the occupiers.

"The left bank (where the occupants were - ed.) is lower than the right bank, so it is more flooded. Enemy positions right on the riverbank were also flooded. It should be understood that the enemy positions are not only trenches, but also usual houses of civilians where they lived," Pidlisny stressed.

The military officer believes that the invaders were not warned on the spot because perhaps the Russian command wanted to preserve the element of surprise for the AFU.
