Drones Attack Polotsk Air Base In Adygea

A fire started after shooting and explosions.

On the night of Thursday, October 10, drones visited a military airfield of the Russian Aerospace Forces in the Republic of Adygea, located near the village of Khanskaya. Local residents heard loud explosions, after which a fire broke out in the area of the airbase, Obozrevatel reports.

Local publics wrote that both the work of Russian air defence and landings on the territory of the military facility were observed in the region. As proof, Russians published videos and complained about the "horror" around.

The first to report the attack were residents of the city of Maykop, who heard "the sounds of humming engines" in the sky at about 02:30. Later, in the area of the airfield, according to them, "bangs" began to be heard.

"It went down right above the airfield", "This is what's happening in Maykop, in Khanskaya. My whole body is shaking. It's horrible," the Russians complained while filming.

As of 04:00, the drone attack was ongoing. According to the ASTRA Telegram channel, a fire broke out in the area of the airfield, as evidenced by the NASA fire monitoring system.

The Khanskaya military airfield is located 3 km east of the village of Khanskaya and 6 km northwest of Maykop. According to open data, the 272nd training aviation Polotsk orders of Suvorov and Kutuzov aviation base of the 2nd category of the Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots named after A.K. Serov is stationed there.
