The attack on a warehouse in the Krasnodar region is part of a larger campaign.
As a result of the attack on a warehouse in the Krasnodar region of the Russian Federation, about 400 Shahed drones were blown up. Forbes reported this citing the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The publication writes that a video of a fire in the Oktyabrsky area was leaked online, showing strong explosions and a fire.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that the hit was right on target.
“A secondary detonation was observed,” the report reads.
The journalists noted that the Shahed drones are one of the main types of weapons with which Russia attacks Ukrainian cities and villages. Thus, Russia has already used more than 8,000 of these kamikaze drones to strike Ukraine.
It is noted that, despite the successful work of the air defence forces, 9 out of 100 Shaheds reach their targets. Almost 600 Ukrainian civilians were killed and 2,700 were injured as a result of Russian strikes over three months of the summer.
According to journalists, the explosion of 400 "Shaheds" should slow down the pace of Russian strikes. But this is a temporary victory. Moscow can always buy more drones from Tehran. It also produces its copies at a plant in Tatarstan in eastern Russia. Thus, the Kremlin paid $ 1.7 billion, partly in gold, to obtain a production license.
The publication writes that it is unclear how exactly Ukraine struck the Krasnodar Territory. However, it was definitely not Western weapons, because partners do not allow Kyiv to use Storm Shadow or SCALP-EG missiles for attacks deep into the Russian Federation. On the other hand, there are no restrictions on the use of Ukrainian-made weapons.
The journalists noted that Ukrainian Neptune cruise missiles could reach southern Russia. And long-range attack drones developed by the Ukrainian intelligence could reach Oktyabrsky.
The article says that the attack on the Shahed warehouse is part of a larger campaign. Instead of wasting expensive air defence missiles to shoot down drones near their targets, the Ukrainians are making efforts to hit Russian munitions before they can be launched.
