The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has passed a historic tax increase bill. It involves an increase in the military tax, but not for everyone.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the people's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak on Telegram.

In general, 247 people's deputies supported the bill № 11416d.

When considering the bill in the second reading, the Verkhovna Rada voted in favour of several amendments. In particular, the Parliament supported the amendment that leaves the military levy for military personnel at the level of 1.5%.

For all others, the military levy will increase from 1.5 to 5%.

Tax Increase for Ukrainians

We remind you, on September 17, the Verkhovna Rada approved the draft amendments to the Tax Code in the first reading. The profile Committee of the Parliament supported the bill for the second reading on October 4.

The bill provides for an increase in the military tax for citizens and the establishment of a military tax for sole traders. It also introduces advance payments of income tax for petrol stations.

In addition, income tax rates for banks will be set at 50%.

Some of the provisions of the bill adopted by the Verkhovna Rada will enter into force retroactively starting from October 1.
