Ukrainian Armed Forces Stop Russians In Toretsk

The Ukrainians control 50% of the city, and do not allow the occupiers to advance.

Almost 40-50% of the territory of the city of Toretsk in the Donetsk region is controlled by the Defense Forces, and the rest of the territory is already occupied by the Russians. This was stated during the telethon by the head of the city military administration, Vasyl Chinchik.

He noted that despite the attempts of the Russian forces to capture the city completely, the Ukrainian Armed Forces hold positions in the city and the occupiers have not managed to advance in the last 24 hours.

“As of yesterday, not a single advance was recorded, nor a single position was captured, nor a single house, either residential or critical infrastructure facilities on the territory of the community,” the head of the Toretsk city military administration emphasized.

However, the aggressor is making every effort to completely capture the city as quickly as possible.

“Approximately 40-50% of the city, one can say, is under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The rest of the territory is captured by the enemy,” he said, adding that the resistance forces are giving a worthy rebuff to the occupiers, holding their positions.

Chinchik also noted that the evacuation of civilians from the city continues, although with quite significant difficulties. Currently, the security situation in Toretsk allows it to be carried out only “at certain intervals”, during “calm periods”.

According to him, about 1,150 people remain in the city. Yesterday, they managed to evacuate 7 people from the territory of the community, three of whom were evacuated with the help of the police, and another 4 — with the assistance of military personnel.
