Even unmotivated and poorly equipped.
Even unmotivated and ill-equipped soldiers from North Korea can have a significant impact on the situation at the front.
This was stated by deputy commander of the 3rd SABr Maksym Zhorin.
He noted that specialists from North Korea have long been cooperating with Russia in such areas as air defence and engineering, so the presence of DPRK soldiers in the war against Ukraine is not new.
Regarding the possible involvement of North Korean military infantry units in the war against Ukraine, Zhorin noted that the soldiers' combat qualities may not be at the highest level, but their participation could still have a significant impact on the front.
‘It will not be the most motivated and high-quality infantry, but they are in any case the people that are needed at the front. They can influence the situation significantly, even if they replace Russian units in the rear,’ he emphasised.
The 3rd SABr deputy commander noted that unlike Ukraine's Western partners, Russia's allies do not face such restrictions in providing assistance.
‘Involvement of the North Korean military is quite a real possibility. Unlike our partners, Russia's allies are not prevented from helping in any way they can. Moreover, North Korea will certainly not be frightened by sanctions,’ Zhorin concluded.
