It has become known how many Trump and Harris received.
The US has completed the vote count in the presidential election, including the so-called swing states. Republican Donald Trump has received 312 electoral votes, with 270 needed to win, and Kamala Harris has 226, according to Reuters reports citing Edison Research.
The day before, on November 9, the vote count was completed in Arizona - there, as in the other six swing states (in addition to Arizona, these include Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina, Wisconsin and Nevada), Donald Trump won. He strengthened his final result to 312 electoral votes with 270 needed to win. Kamala Harris has 226 votes as a result of the election.
In 2020, Joe Biden defeated Trump, winning in six of the seven swing states - and losing slightly in North Carolina. Then the current US president received 306 Electoral College votes against Trump's 232.
In turn, Trump also received 306 votes in 2016, defeating Hillary Clinton and becoming president. Thus, the current result became a record for him.
According to the Associated Press, Trump received 74.6 million votes nationwide, or 50.5%, and Harris - 70.9 million, or 48%.
After Congress approves the Electoral College results on January 6, Trump and his future vice president, Senator Vance, are scheduled to take office on January 20.
Recall that the US presidential election took place on November 4. The official results have not yet been announced, but Trump has already declared himself the 47th president of the United States. Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris has acknowledged her defeat.
